1. Introduction

These terms and conditions govern your use of the Recommended Tradesmen website and my services. By using this website or engaging my services, you accept these terms in full. If you disagree with any part of these terms, please do not use my website or services.

Recommended Tradesmen Ltd is a registered company. My registered office is at 147 Valley Road, Kenley, Surrey CR8 5BZ.

2. Services

We provide professional painting, decorating, and property maintenance services to residential customers in Surrey and surrounding areas. The specific scope of work will be agreed upon in writing before any work commences.

We reserve the right to:

• Refuse any project at my discretion
• Subcontract work to trusted partners with your consent
• Decline work that requires qualifications We do not hold (e.g., gas, electrical)
• Adjust timelines due to unforeseen circumstances, with notice

3. Quotations and Estimates

Quotations: A fixed-price quotation is valid for 30 days from the date issued. The quoted price is based on the information provided at the time of quotation. If the scope of work changes or unforeseen issues are discovered, We reserve the right to adjust the price accordingly.

Estimates: An estimate provides an approximate cost based on my assessment. The final price may vary depending on the actual time and materials required.

Additional Work: Any work requested beyond the agreed scope will be quoted separately and requires your approval before proceeding.

4. Booking and Scheduling

Confirmation: A booking is confirmed only when you accept my quotation in writing (email, text, or signed agreement) and pay any required deposit.

Start Dates: We will provide an estimated start date, which may be subject to change due to weather, material availability, or other project delays. We will keep you informed of any changes.

Access: You agree to provide reasonable access to your property during agreed working hours. Failure to provide access may result in delays and additional charges.

5. Payments

Deposit: For projects over £1,000, a deposit of 25% is required to secure your booking. For materials-only purchases, full payment for materials may be required upfront.

Progress Payments: For larger projects, We may request progress payments at agreed milestones.

Final Payment: The balance is due upon completion of the work, following your inspection and approval. Payment is required within 7 days of invoice.

Payment Methods: We accept bank transfer, cash, or cheque. Please note that work remains my property until full payment is received.

6. Cancellations

By You: If you cancel more than 7 days before the scheduled start date, your deposit will be refunded in full. If you cancel within 7 days, the deposit is non-refundable.

By Me: In the unlikely event that I need to cancel, We will provide as much notice as possible and refund any deposits paid in full.

7. Materials and Colours

Materials: we use high-quality paints and materials from reputable suppliers. Unless otherwise agreed, we will supply all necessary materials.

Colour Selection: You are responsible for selecting and approving colours before work begins. we recommend testing colours on small areas first. we are not responsible for colour choices you are unhappy with after application.

Customer-Supplied Materials: If you supply your own materials, We accept no responsibility for their quality, suitability, or coverage. Additional labour charges may apply if poor-quality materials require extra work.

8. Preparation and Protection

Your Responsibilities: Please clear the work area of furniture, valuables, and fragile items where possible. While we take great care to protect your property, We cannot be held responsible for damage to items left in the work area.

Our Responsibilities: We will use dust sheets, masking tape, and other protective measures as appropriate. We will treat your home with respect and clean up thoroughly after each day's work.

9. Guarantee and Liability

Workmanship Guarantee: We provide a 24-month guarantee on my workmanship. This covers defects in application but not damage caused by accident, misuse, or normal wear and tear.

What is Covered: Peeling, blistering, or flaking paint resulting from improper preparation or application.

What is Not Covered: Damage from external factors (damp, structural movement, impact damage), normal wear and tear, or issues arising from customer-supplied materials.

Limitation of Liability: My total liability is limited to the value of the work performed. We are not liable for any indirect, consequential, or special damages.

10. Website Use

Accuracy: We make every effort to ensure the information on this website is accurate, but We cannot guarantee that all information is error-free.

Images: All photographs on this website are of my actual work. Results may vary depending on your specific property and conditions.
